Essays on the Great Depression

Christians always look for hidden meaning in songs, movies, and literature. There is always a crowd curious if a lead actor, or singer, or author is a Christian. This shows the constant search for fellow believers and although most times I find it unneccessary I think it's kinda cool that we made prode these answers from those whom seem uncomfortable answering.

I remember when I was a member of KITW I wore an AFI shirt one night at a show. After the show a women approached me telling me that she was "a big fan of AFI" and for some reason assumed I was good friends with them. She then proceeded to ask me, "Are AFI Christians?" I couldn't help but laugh for the lyric to the first track could explain much of their beliefs, (although they may be Christians.. dont know... ) I just thought it somewhat strange that she was so curious about their personal beliefs.

This tells me that people, even when they find the answer, are still searching for something. We want to know if so-and-so is "one of us" like we are some gang or club when in reality we are only one decision away from being alike spiritually. I wanted to tell the women, "Of course AFI are Christians, well they've at least got an 80% chance."

Eighty percent of the American population consider themselves to be "Christian." I am in no place to question the heart of another, but for all the crap in this world and for all the things that seem to defy God, Could there really be this many Christians? This question has no answer, but what we do know is that the world is slowly turning away from God, especially America.

Look at society today, What has been the "big debate" over this current holiday? This week I have heard constant debates on the simple two words, "Merry Christmas." Christmas has become a bad word and maybe not this year, but soon Christmas will be banned from schools, stores, and possibly even churches. Not only has "Christmas" been in hot water, but Indiana (my proud state) has just passed a law saying that prayers before Government meetings cannot be directed toward any one religion. Say what? I wonder how a prayer is said to no one. They might as well be banning it all together. Prayer is gone, "Christmas" is soon to follow. Are you suprised?

I'm not. The end is coming, I don't believe it to be in my lifetime, but the world and it's ways are shaping to become fulfilled prophesy made thousands of years ago. It is a preparation for the second coming and the angels in Heaven are beginning to get anxious.

I believe that once this is said and done we will be asked by those currently in Heaven, "What was it like living in the end times?" We will probably answer then give a question of our own, "What was it like watching Jesus heal the sick?"

Friends, don't be swayed by the simplicity of the coming New Age world for their plans are not plans of God, but plans of the prince of darkness. America is soon becoming, "The Land of Do-Whatever-You-Want"... anything you want except Christianity.

Christianity has become the new Abercrombie and Fitch... it's only a fad for many. But beware of the day this fad fades... and it will fade.

the world doesnt have much to say to me lately, Republicans and Democrats are all whack. the only rep. id vote for would be McCain. It seems like he would know what he's doing. and the only democrate id vote for would be.. NONE OF THEM. Howard Dean is a real piece of work if you ask me... I do think however that Alito would make a good judge,, I say "let him in" you power trip kings of nothing. I am alone in this race, maybe thats why i havent voted in my life,,, it seems like there is never someone that i completely agree with. just make a decision! a good decision please! Bush finally yelled a bit at the critics,, only about 2 years too late im afraid.. and isnt he just the worst public speaker youve ever seen? this guy is even worse than my frickin health teacher in sixth grade trying to teach us all about sex. uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,,,, the ideology of the iraqi.... uh terriorists,, uh well, we wont back down,, and uh i believe that ,, uh a force is necessary,, uh im hungry.

oh well i couldnt do any better... maybe ive given up because i know the morals of this country are going to hell, the bible even tells us this will happen... but whatever, life is life and maybe one day i'll get into those politics and bring the INDEPENDENTS to victory.

so life is going well, but who am i to say that its not? i dont know much about much, but i know that life isnt ours to judge its goodness or its lack of. times may be hard and we think life might really suck, but we are ignorant in matters this large. we dont know the future or what God has for us. if we say life sucks but dont know the twists and turns along the way than what just do we have making such a claim? life is hard, life is also good. its not for us to decide what stage of life we are in. what God has for us in this life is perfect; even through the death of loved ones, a lonely time, or deep depression.

his plan is perfect just as he is perfect. we are all aware of an evil force slowly taking over the world pulling the world farther from the creator. keep your eyes on the creator and you'll be ok. only when we get sucked into the evil does our life truely suck, because this evil is the opposite of everything thats perfect. its sick and twisted with plans of destruction and death.

mistakes are there to learn from, death is there to grow a fear for our coming time, sickness is there to gain trust in a healer, depression is there to find yourself,

for every tough thing in life there is a counter action that is much greater. keep your muscles flexed in your tough times and then rejoice in the good.
